Uganda Airlines has announced its upcoming India operations, commencing on October 7. The airline is all set to introduce a new direct service connecting Uganda’s Entebbe International Airport and Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.

This service will operate three times a week, facilitated by Uganda Airlines’ Airbus A330-800 neo aircraft. Passengers will have the choice of three seating classes: Business (20 seats), Premium Economy (28 seats), and Economy (210 seats). This marks the return of a non-stop air link between India and Uganda after more than 50 years.

Moreover, this expansion underlines Uganda Airlines’ commitment to extending its services beyond the African continent, enhancing connectivity across South, West, Central, and Eastern Africa. The direct flight will notably reduce travel time, with a duration of approximately 5.5 hours each way.

Adedayo Olawuyi, Chief Commercial Officer at Uganda Airlines, expressed excitement about this new flight, highlighting its potential to bolster business and commercial ties between India and Uganda.

Madhusudan Agrawal, Hon. Consul of Uganda, shared his elation, noting that this direct flight realization aligns with his vision of fostering enhanced trade, commerce, and tourism between the two nations.

The inaugural flight, UR 430, will depart from Entebbe on Saturday, October 7, while the return flight, UR 431, is scheduled to leave Mumbai on Sunday, October 8. The flight schedule is designed to accommodate passengers continuing their journeys beyond Uganda by connecting with Uganda Airlines’ existing network.

Booking for these flights can be conveniently done through the Uganda Airlines App, available on Google Play and Apple iStore.

Currently, Uganda Airlines serves various destinations, including Dubai, Johannesburg, Bujumbura, Nairobi, Mombasa, Zanzibar, Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro, Juba, Kinshasa, and Mogadishu. The airline has also revealed plans to commence flights to Lagos, Nigeria, in the near future.
