An honorable mention award has been presented to Nigerian Afrobeats musician Fireboy DML from music streaming platform Audiomack for surpassing 350 million streams.

Audiomack vice-president for marketing and brand strategy Jason Johnson said from New York that Fireboy DML has made a significant impact in both the local and global music industries in just four years.
“In less than four years, Fireboy has made a mark in both the local and global music industry and we are very excited to commemorate the incredible feat of over 350 million streams on Audiomack,” Audiomack vice-president for marketing and brand strategy Jason Johnson said from New York.
In 2018, Fireboy DML achieved notable success following the release of his breakthrough single ‘Jealous’ from the YBNL MaFia Family compilation album.
Following that, he released two albums, his debut, ‘Laughter, Tears and Goosebumps’, which amassed 153 million streams on Audiomack, and his sophomore, ‘Apollo’, which featured hits such as ‘Champion’ and ‘Tattoo’.
The album ‘Apollo’ has been streamed more than 154 million times on Audiomack; the rest of the streams originated from standalone singles.
Johnson said: “At Audiomack, we believe in acknowledging and awarding talents for the milestone they have achieved in streaming and our goal is to highlight the hard work artists are putting into their careers digitally and the contributions of supporting stakeholders including management teams, fans and industry players like Audiomack.”
Adedamola Adefolahan, the musician known as Fireboy DML, grew up singing in a church choir in Nigeria’s southwest.
Fireboy, who is signed to YBNL Nation/Empire, has achieved major accomplishments, including being included on the FIFA 21 soundtrack with his 2019 single ‘Scatter’, and appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
On May 20, 2021, Fireboy DML released four new tracks in the Apple Music Home Session series. In December, he released a remix of his hit ‘Peru’ featuring a verse from Ed Sheeran.
Earlier, Lifestyle Uganda reported that Nigerian singer Fireboy DML will perform at the Uganda Concert Festival in Kampala this April.
Just about a month after his ‘The Apollo Tour’ in the United States, Fireboy DML will be performing at the Lugogo Cricket Oval in Uganda on 30th April 2022.
