Ugandan singer and songwriter Alexander Bagonza, better known as A Pass, is gearing up for his first-ever concert, set to happen on January 31, 2025, at the Kampala Serena Hotel.
Dubbed A Pass Live in Concert, the event was announced on Thursday, January 16, during a press briefing attended by fellow artists, performers, and sponsors.
A Pass, known for his ability to switch between heartfelt ballads and high-energy anthems, couldn’t hide his excitement. “We started rehearsals in November, continued in December, and we’re still rehearsing in January. That already shows you that i’ll give everything on stage,” he said. “It’s going to be a beautiful experience.”
With a catalog packed with hits like Gamululu, Memories (featuring Lilian Mbabazi), Tuli Kubigere, Didadada, Wuuyo, and Chupa ku Chupa, plus his ambitious 42-track Bagonza album, A Pass has no shortage of material to wow his fans. “When people come to experience a concert, you have to give them their money’s worth. I’m going to be there to deliver something beautiful, and my fans are going to enjoy this show, because I intend to give everything on that stage,” he added.
The concert has I&M Bank Uganda as its official banking partner. According to Raymond Kakuru, the Events and Brands Officer at I&M Bank, the partnership aligns with their goal of connecting with customers beyond the banking hall.
“With the back-to-school season upon us, coming immediately after the festive season, we understand the stress these times come with, and this event will give people a chance to unwind and enjoy a memorable night of music,” Kakuru said.
He also highlighted the bank’s ongoing loan repayment holiday campaign, which runs until February 28, 2025. “This initiative allows customers to take a break from loan payments for this period. We look forward to sharing in the fun at the A Pass Live in Concert with our customers,” Kakuru added.
I&M Bank has been a strong supporter of Ugandan music and culture, previously backing Jose Chameleone’s Legend in Gold concert celebrating his 25 years in the industry. The bank remains committed to partnering with local talent and events that connect with Ugandans.
