NTV Uganda’s Luganda news anchor, Faridah Nakazibwe, has reportedly bid farewell to the station after an impressive 17-year tenure.
On Monday morning, reports surfaced indicating that the 39-year-old anchor said her goodbyes to some colleagues over the weekend, with her final ‘Mwasuze Mutya’ show aired on Friday, September 27th.
As of Monday afternoon, neither Nakazibwe nor the station had officially confirmed these reports.
Nakazibwe initially joined NTV in 2006, making the move from the now-defunct WBS TV, where she worked as a field reporter and news anchor.
Over the years, she has become a prominent figure as the anchor for the evening ‘Akawungeezi news’ and the morning show ‘Mwasuze Mutya.’
In the previous month, Nakazibwe marked a significant personal achievement by graduating with a master’s degree in Business Administration from Victoria University. During this time, she also hinted at having “other career aspirations.”
