By the time Anita Kyalimpa — better known to the public as Anita Fabiola — turned 31, she had already left an indelible mark on Uganda’s media, fashion, and tourism landscapes.
A former beauty queen turned television host and entrepreneur, Fabiola has carved a name for herself as one of the country’s most recognisable media personalities. Glamorous yet grounded, she has grown into a polished figure at the forefront of Uganda’s celebrity culture — and now, motherhood.
On Tuesday, 17th June 2025, Fabiola and her husband Mark Ronald Mukiibi shared news of their latest milestone: the birth of twins, a boy and a girl, named Seth and Rumi. It was a characteristically poised announcement, made via social media to a fanbase that has followed her every step — from catwalks and red carpets to radio booths and tourism campaigns.

Beauty and Beginnings
Born on 7 June 1994, Fabiola’s foray into the public eye began early. At just 12, she was already modelling under the Arapapa agency and appeared in Flair magazine. Beauty pageants soon followed — Miss London College, Miss St. Lawrence, and eventually Miss Kadanke in 2012, a nationwide school pageant which she won, earning her national attention.
A year later, she was crowned Miss Uganda West and emerged first runner-up in the Miss Uganda 2013 beauty pageant — achievements that catapulted her into the entertainment spotlight.
Rise to Television Stardom
In 2014, she made her debut on NTV Uganda with Be My Date, a Sunday evening dating show that quickly became one of the country’s most-watched programmes. Her natural flair on screen won her the Best Female TV Personality award at the 2015 Buzz Teeniez Awards.
She briefly transitioned into radio, co-hosting the Big Breakfast show on Capital FM, before returning to television and red carpet events that spanned the continent — from the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards in Nigeria to the Namibia Annual Music Awards and the Ghana Movie Awards.
Her hosting credentials include homegrown events like the Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards, Miss Uganda, the Uganda Entertainment Awards, and several high-profile concerts.

On Screen and Beyond
Fabiola’s on-screen presence extended into acting. She played the role of Angella in Second Chance, a Ugandan adaptation of a popular Latin American telenovela. She also featured in Studio 256 and had a supporting role in the 2013 Bollywood Malayalam thriller Escape from Uganda.
Off camera, she expanded her media reach with The Fabiola Podcast — making her the first Ugandan media figure to launch a podcast on Afripods, a Swedish platform.
In 2018, she made history as the first Ugandan to walk the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival.
Tourism and Advocacy
In 2019, Fabiola took on a new national role — as a goodwill ambassador for Ugandan tourism. Alongside a team of celebrities, she led the Tulambule campaign under the Uganda Tourism Board, touring cultural sites and scenic regions to encourage domestic travel and cultural pride.
Her advocacy extended to philanthropy with the launch of the Fab Girls Foundation, which focuses on girls’ education, sanitation, and HIV/AIDS awareness. She even turned her personal brand into a charitable cause, selling customised calendars to raise funds for the foundation’s programmes.
Brand and Business
As her profile soared, Fabiola became a sought-after brand ambassador. She has represented companies including MTN Pulse, Jumia Uganda, Lux Belaire, Virginia Black, Paramour Cosmetics, and CAT Footwear. Her image — curated but accessible — has proved both aspirational and commercially powerful.

Private Life in the Public Eye

In 2021, Mark Ronald Mukiibi proposed to Fabiola during a romantic getaway in the Maldives. The couple held a traditional marriage ceremony, okugamba obugyenyi, in 2022 — largely kept private but celebrated widely across Ugandan media.
Now with the birth of their twins, Fabiola begins a new chapter — balancing motherhood with the responsibilities of a public figure. For someone who has spent over a decade in the spotlight, her next act may be her most defining yet.
