Without revealing the cause of death, Leila Kayondo took to social media to share the news of her loss and revealed that her mother Nnalongo Kayondo passed away early Sunday morning.
She posted on Instagram: ”Very broken very Sad to announce the death of my mother.”
The news of Leila Kayondo’s loss comes 9 months after the death of her father Yahaya Kayondo who died on March 19, 2020. Then on July 9, 2020, the Awo singer announced the death of another family member, her brother Abdu Karim.
Just a few minutes of posting the unfortunate news on Instagram. Celebrities from the music industry shared their condolences with her on the photo-sharing app.

Kayondo began her music career with the all-female band Dream Gals. The group released hit songs like weekend and Wandekangawo.
In 2009, Kayondo left the group and began a solo career. She’s got hit songs like Awo, and Relaxing.
She later signed with the Nigerian Striker Entertainment recording label in Uganda in 2017, with Respeck and Musaayi as her first releases with the label.
