Ground prices

Pricing is a tribute to the company’s first opening in 1920. At that time, it was 15 cents for a movie ticket. Of course, such a low price is unheard of in 2020. But interestingly, when adjusting for inflation, 15 cents in 1920 are worth about $2.00 today.

This illustrates how inflated the price of a movie ticket is. At many box offices, you pay ticket 20, which includes no snacks.

There is also good news. After the August 20 reopening, tickets will be cheaper, going up to $5 per piece in the future.

It should be noted that AMC does not display any newly released blockbusters. Many studios are storing the big hit releases for the Christmas season and summer of 2021.

AMC Loyalty Program

Like the chain restaurant industry, AMC has been leaning towards loyalty plans to sustain the business. Customers who subscribe to the AMC Stubs A-List subscription plan will receive $10 credit, which expires at the end of October.

The program allows people up to three movies a month for a total of $25.

What will the reopening look like?

The reopening of the AMC theatres will be different in each state. In states like California and New York, large gatherings are still banned and theatres are closed. In states where theatres reopen, the AMC will operate at limited capacity.

Also, AMC has announced the need for a mask. Even in places where there are no local guides, spectators may have to wear masks to enter the theatre.

This raises a big question: Are the offers open?
